CAD Model of a Methanation Plant
Project context
ORBIT II expands a trickle-bed bioreactor for the biological methanation of carbon dioxide with archaea. The research plant combines the reactor with an electrolyser, gas-treatment equipment, gas storage and the necessary auxiliary systems. It is tested with different industrial gas streams and then integrated/ operated at a wastewater-treatment plant.
CAD modelling and plant documentation
This sub-project created a complete CAD representation of the plant and its process sections. The model records technical components, component identifiers and all measurement points consistently with the process flow diagrams. This provides a structured plant documentation and makes it substantially easier to locate individual components or instrumentation points during operation, analysis and further development.
