Energy Process Engineering Measurement Data Analysis
Project context
ORBIT II expands a trickle-bed bioreactor for the biological methanation of carbon dioxide with archaea. The research plant combines the reactor with an electrolyser, gas-treatment equipment, gas storage and the necessary auxiliary systems. It is tested with different industrial gas streams and then integrated/ operated at a wastewater-treatment plant.
Measurement data analysis
In this work package, an automated analysis of the experimental results was programmed. The goal was to enable the investigation of the influence of various feed gases on product gas generation. To this end, a comprehensive Python tool was developed that provides visualizations and statistical analyses of the experimental measurements. For example, this made it possible to investigate the influence of ambient temperature on the pH value in the reactor.
